The blue, medium-level board is 0.33 inches thick, offering a harder breaking tension so it’s not as easy to break as the yellow board. As you drastically increase your speed and strength, you’ll advance in your belt ranking and can move up to the red and black boards. The red, heavy-level board is 0.4 inches thick and the hardest board to break – black with an x-heavy difficulty – is 0.6" thick to match the skills of anyone who has obtained a black belt. Please note: You should not attempt the red or black boards before developing proper punching and kicking techniques to avoid injury.
